MAC wish list

Sorry for the lack of posting, I'm pretty broke at the moment so I haven't really picked anything up recently (well that's a lie, I bought a nail polish remover, a facial scrub and make-up remover wipes, but that's not really something you want to read about is it?).

I recently decided that I want to own MAC products, right now I have five eyeshadows (shroom, all that glitters, print, sushi flower & fig 1, all of which I got for my birthday) and so I made a list of the things I want and have already planned to go shopping as soon as I get paid at the end of the month. So I thought I'd share it with you and you could give me your thoughts:

Studio sculpt concealer
mineralized skinfinish natural (or should I get the studio fix powder? I'm not really sure what the difference is, I'll ask the MA when I'm at MAC)
'well dressed' blusher (chosen after the reccomendation of both lollipop26 and Hollymae20)
'sable' eyeshadow
'humid'eyeshadow (or possibly a different green, I really want a forest green eyeshadow)
and finally a black pencil eyeliner, though I'm not sure what sort to get...I need to research them better :)

I do need a new black liquid eyeliner, but I'm not going to get one from MAC as I am very happy with my Bourjois one.

That's all I'm getting, expect a haul blog at the beginning of next month with all my new goodies! :)

Hope you're having a great weekend,

Huge disappointment

Okay, so I know I said I would do a review on the Body Shop starter kit for combination skin, but honestly I can't last a month, I didn't even last a week!

I really wanted to like this product, but I just couldn't. This may just be because of my skin, which up until now I thought was combination but now I have no clue. I really need your help to ID my skin type.
My T-zone is oily but also dry (!). My forehead especially, and sometimes my nose, gets dry and flaky, but this might be due to the fact that I don't drink enough liquids (I am trying to fix that right now). My cheeks are normal/dry but oily around the nose. I get blemishes on my chin mostly but I have blackheads on my nose (that won't go away! I've tried steaming, nose strips, you name it), but after all I am in my teens so blemishes are expected.

So my skin type options are:
a) oily and the dryness is due to lack of liquids
b) dry and oiliness and blemishes are due to being in my teens.

What do you think?

Anyway back to the review.

I will say that these products are probably good for people who actually have combination skin (which I'm guessing I don't) and I really like the smell. It smells of cucumber and reminds me of a spa. :)
I think it was the cleanser that didn't work for me, my forehead was really dry after using it, and super flaky, ugh, horrible.
The toner didn't do much in my opinion (do they ever?) but felt a bit too...soapy, somehow. I can't explain it.
The two moisturisers were nice but didn't help with the suddenly super-dry forehead (I had to use really heavy moisturiser on that).

Overall, I think this is a good product, all other reviews I have seen have been good, but it just didn't work for my weird, warped skin. Sadly. :(

However, on the upside I can now empty the containers and use them as small shampoo holders for when I go on holiday, and I have a new make-up bag!

If anyone has any idea what skin type I am, please tell me so in the comments and I might try out more things (maybe from the Body Shop), but for now it's back to Shiseido for me!

New skincare routine

Wow, three posts in one day!

My skincare routine up till now has consisted of three Shiseido products, all from the Pureness line. They are: deep cleansing foam, balancing softener and moisturising gel-cream.
I've been using the moisturiser for about a year and a half but started using the other products in January.
I'm not sure if it's because of my skintype (combination) but I didn't really see an effect and for some reason the skin around my eyes got red, scaly, dry and flaky (not nice at all!) and I figured out that this was from the cleansing foam. I was using the cleansing foam every day, and it did occur to me that maybe I shouldn't, but it doesn't actually say so on the tube. So I don't actually dislike these products, but I want to try something new and see if it changes anything.

I have combination skin. It's oily in the T-zone but dry on cheeks, and can sometimes be dry around the nose as well (and oily at the same time, weird right?). I decided to give the Body Shop skincare a try and bought a starter kit today (see haul post below). I got the Seaweed one as that is for combination skin.
This contains:
Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash 60 ml.
Seaweed Clarifying Toner 60 ml.
Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream 15 ml.
Seaweed Clarifying Night Treatment 15 ml

So I thought that I would try these out, give them a month or so (or until I finish them) and then post back to tell you what I thought of them.
Here is the link to this kit: Seaweed Skincare Kit

Tiny haul

So I went shopping today and didn't buy much, mostly because I have no money, haha :)

Here's what I got:

I got a Seaweed Skincare Kit, which includes a cleanser, toner, night cream and day cream.
L'oreal True Match Foundation in C1: Rose Ivory
Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara in Glam Black
and a small red transparent make-up bag, which was really cheap!

I will post another blog later tonight or tomorrow about the Body Shop kit.

I seem to be going a bit crazy at entering contests and giveaways..but what can you loose right?

Whimsical Rose is having a NARS giveaway and I really really want to win because we don't have NARS in my country. :(
The prizes are super amazing, especially for the summer and here is the link for you to join:

Cool contest!

So Narita is hosting a MAC giveaway (yay!). Super awesome prizes, even a lipglass from the new Style Warrior line! Can you tell that I'm super exited? haha
So here's the link to the contest:

I'm really exited, I love giveaways :D Some people are just so nice :)

What's for dinner tonight?

Okay, so this is not actually make-up related, but I was cooking dinner tonight and surprisingly I did not mess anything up! I have amazing skills at doing weird things to food. :)
I decided to post a couple of pictures of what I made:

This is the Mauritian Prawn Curry from Nigella Lawson's Forever Summer cookbook (it's summer!), except I made it with haddock instead of prawns, because the shop didn't have any nice prawns :( Oh, I hadn't actually added the fish in at this point, but I forgot to take a picture when I had.

For desert I made an Easy Cherry Tartufo, which is an Italian ice cream dessert. The link to the recipe is HERE if you are interested. Really simple and really good. :) I especially loved the recipe because you can use any ice cream and/or fruit, whatever you have on hand.

That was it, I made rice to go with the curry and a simple salad.

Let me know if you liked this post, I could post more random things in the future if you'd like me to.

I'm having an MRI scan tomorrow and will sadly not be able to wear any make-up. But I will be going shopping afterwards and might buy clothes and/or make-up, I'll show you what I bought tomorrow :)
