An unexpected treat

While I was at school today I got a text from my mum saying that I had a package waiting for me at the post office. I was completely confused because I wasn't expecting anything, but she said that it was from Liz Earle. I thought that was really strange because I'd had the stuff I ordered sent to my sister in London, so that I could take it back with me when I go there next week. So I went to the post office and found out that I had to pay the equivalent of a £20 / $35 customs charge. I was pretty annoyed that my stuff had been shipped to me instead of my sister's but I paid the money and got my package, which was a lot smaller than I had expected. I opened it only to find out that all it contained was a sample of the Cleanse & Polish cleanser, a muslin cloth and a bunch of pamphlets. Why was I being charged for some stuff I hadn't ordered.
Then I looked at the customs bill and realised that they were charging me for the things I'd had sent to my sister. After I realised that I calmed down a bit and am going to email the customs people and explain all this to them and get them to give me my money back. :)
Once I'd calmed down I had a proper look at what Liz Earle had sent me and was genuinely touched. The sample they sent me was free and as I mentioned before it consisted of a 30ml tube of Cleanse & Polish and a muslin cloth. I also got a letter thanking be for placing my first order at Liz Earle and a note saying that the products were carefully packaged and they hoped I would find them satisfying. I also received three brochures, one listing all the ingredients in all their products, one containing descriptions of all their products and the last one contained a price list.
I think this was a wonderful thing for the company to do, it was completely unexpected but just made me feel that they really care about their customer service. I'm also thrilled since this means I get to try the cleanser before I actually go to London!
I've realised however that I'll end up with an awful lot of muslin cloths. I'll get two with the kit I ordered and then I ordered an extra two, and now I've got one more!

Now I'm off to wash my face with my new cleanser!

Extra! Extra! Read all about it!

I just painted my nails with OPI's 'Done Out in Deco'. It's one of my most favourite shades ever, but I thought it looked a little weird at first, I've mostly be wearing dark shades on my nails and the light purple looked a little strange at first. I decided to try the newspaper nail look I saw on Hannah's blog. After a rather surprised response from my mother whether we had any vodka, I grabbed a newspaper and had at it. It turns out we didn't have any vodka, but I used gin instead, it worked fine. :)
So anyway, I thought I'd show you how it turned out.

I messed up the right thumb a little bit, but otherwise I quite like it. The pictures are a little washed out though. I love the Snoopy nail, if I ever do this again I might just use bits of comics, I think it could be rather smart. :)

Have you ever tried this? It's really simple, just dip your finger in alcohol (something like vodka or gin), press on a piece of a newspaper for about 20 seconds, peel it off and presto!
